Key findings for the September Quarter 2011

1. The rebound in market sentiment in the second half of 2009 is looking more and more like an aberration as the net sentiment remains in the negative again. The roller coaster ride in market sentiment contrasts with the relative stability in business prices over the same period.

2. The volume of businesses advertised for sale in September has skyrocketed from an the all time high set last quarter to reach a new record high, while the value of the BizExchange Index stagnates at the all time low set last quarter.

3. The rapid growth in listing volumes is predominantly at the low end, so that three out four listings have EBIT ratios below two.

4. Over half the listings have an EBIT ratio value of between one and two.
